Hailing from the sheep-studded Welsh hills, Aeron Pughe, a familiar face for S4C viewers brings us his original ‘honky-tonk’ songs of longing and absurdity in the familiar, taking us on a journey through his homeland somewhere between ‘Hell and Darowen’, where sometimes, beer is the only answer. With well known Americana duo Mike and Katie West (aka ‘Truckstop Honeymoon’) providing their brilliant authentic sounds on banjo, guitar, mandolin and double bass, coupled with the soulful, seraphic harmonies of Sara Meredydd, we are treated to Aeron’s story telling of God’s country via a melodic, joyous mix of country, folk, Americana and bluegrass - perhaps the emergence of a new and exciting genre, Ameri-Cymreig.
